SCENOGRAPHY WITH STAMPS for a library specialized in Scenic Arts

By using an ad hoc designed and produced set of stamps to interact with a given illustration, library users will be able to create a scene. This interactive graphic turns the library’s user cards into a personal and memorable object.

Graphics are a vehicle for communication, like the letters that form words that are transformed into speech. Manual printing techniques allow for instantaneous writing. As a fan of old printing inventions and modern tools and materials, I have developed my own way of making stamps. I always treat the stamp as a pen, as a way of writing with a deliberate language.

GRAPHICS & DANCE
This creative workshop encourages imagination and corporal expression outside of the usual. From a game of stamps, imaginary beings are created that end up forming a choreographic score. From this, a contemporary dance performance will be created. This is how L’Impossible will become a reality. The workshop is inspired by the work Corps seul by Christine Cloux and is aimed at theatres, museums and educational institutions.

The Valencian Performing Arts Awards annually celebrate the best creations of the Valencian Community. The awards gala is a much-anticipated event. It brings together artists and promoters of the Performing Arts and is a loudspeaker for cultural production professionals.
The awards are organised by the Valencian Institute of Culture. They are held alternately in the three provinces of the region. Its gala enjoys great visibility in the urban landscape: it dresses the façade of the Teatro Principal in the provincial capitals of Valencia, Alicante and Castellón, the nominees are received on the red carpet spread outside the theatre and there is a wide repercussion in the social networks.
The graphic design encompasses both the identification of the venues and the gala itself.
In the editions held from 2019 to 2023, a graphic image has been consolidated, the hallmark of which is the statuette by the Valencian sculptor Manuel Boix.

Poster 2023 received the SILVER GRAPHIS POSTER AWARD 2025

Performing arts only exist if there is an audience. This was the key idea behind the design of this important annual event.
I wanted to continue the tradition of typographic posters established in the previous years for this institutional event. With a wink at the «P» for «Public» (Audience), which climbs the steps to the stage just like the award winners, the mask symbolises the importance of their role in creating the stage, thus visualising the central idea of the gala’s script.

For almost ten years I have been a partner and creative director at a Spanish multidisciplinary firm specialising in civil engineering, architecture, landscape and urban design. My challenging role as Creative Director was to lead the creative process to produce innovative design solutions in these fields. We developed projects in Spain, Georgia, Saudi Arabia, Colombia and other countries. I enjoyed this work because of the range of scale – from furniture design to large scale projects, and my experience in different design fields enables me to develop creative projects of great variety and need.

NEW SEAFRONT BOULEVARD BATUMI, GEORGIA

One of my favourite urban and landscape design projects developed under my direction was the New Seafront Boulevard, Batumi, Georgia. This project was the beginning of a long and successful collaboration with the Government of Georgia. The city expected the creation of a modern space that would act as a development engine for international tourism on the Black Sea coast. The new seafront boulevard has attracted international hotel chains, concerts, art festivals and events. It has become a really active place. The project was awarded the International Architecture Award 2012 by The Chicago Athenaeum – The European Centre for Architecture.

BOOK OF BOOKS Designing for me means creating languages so that objects speak for themselves. I have always been fascinated by print. And I was lucky, I was born in Leipzig, which is a particularly bookish city. Making books is a very serious thing. A book places the content in an order and a structure, and also its materiality suggests another kind of emotion. This exhibition brings together various objects related to the creation of books and in this case, artist books.

We read books as objects. Its design starts from the editorial scheme, the research of the essential contents to then give a structure to all this information and its different layers of reading.
